I don't fully agree with the premise of this theory that there was some sort of sapphire ring involved in Ginny's sickness, I think it's a bit of a stretch. But the core concept that Sapphires tie in heavily to Saturn do heavily suggest that Ginny's sickness may have come from Saturn enslaving her.
I think the theory still works perfectly well if we go back to the original yokai reveal for Saturn, that he is an Ushi Oni. That's all you really need to make this theory work that Saturn is Bonney's biological father. There are many myths from different regions surrounding the Ushi Oni, but I think we only really need to focus on the myth from the Mie Prefecture.
The ushi-oni is considered to curse the Mie Prefecture. It is said that there was once an ushi-oni in the caves of Gokasho-ura, Minamiise, and when the lord of the Gokasho castle, Aisu Shigeaki shot it with a bow, the seishitsu (lord's wife) fell sick with an incurable illness due to the curse. Because of this, Shigeaki distanced himself from the seishitsu, and developed an infatuation for a shirabyōshi (dancer) who came from the capital. As a result, the seishitsu's parents, Kitabatake, came to have bad relations with the Aisu, and ended up ruining the Aisu.
If we break this down piece by piece, I feel like we can easily see the One Piece correlation and put together that Saturn is most likely Bonney's biological father.
There's heavy suggestions that Saturn, being some sort of devil, is coming up to the surface world again when he arrives on Egghead. Whether you want to debate he's coming up to the surface from Hell or down from Mary Geoise, coming from the depths of a cave correlates pretty well.
Kuma, who goes on to be a king in Sorbet, stands up to Saturn on God Valley. Whether he attacked Saturn or not at some point after the flashback, I don't really think it's that important to pointing to the correlations here of a "lord" standing up to the Ushi Oni.
Self explanatory. Ginny contracted Sapphire Scale, an incurable disease from the past, and died from it.
This obviously isn't one to one, but I think the correlations are way too close to not be Oda's intentions here if we just stretch the mythos a little bit.
Ginny dies, which is obviously Kuma being distanced from his "wife". But he gains a relationship with a dancer from the capital. Bonney, a part Celestial Dragon, born in the Holy Land. From many of the scenes we've gotten of Bonney and Kuma from her childhood, it's the two of them dancing to the Drums of Liberation. I just can't think of this as being some sort of coincidence.
Again, a little bit a of stretching.
I don't really think Saturn cares at all about any of these "insects", even if Bonney is his daughter. But if we stick with the mythos here and twist it a little bit. The parent of the dancer in this case (Bonney) ends up ruining the Aisu (the lord in the story). If we're considering that to be Kuma, and Saturn is the one who officially gave the orders to axe Kuma for good... every single part of this legend lines up.
If we're all in agreement that Saturn is an Ushi Oni, and that Ushi Onis spread disease, I just feel like there are way too many things here that line up. The correlations between Sapphire and Saturn. The sickness and incurable disease to the "wife" of the lord who stood up to the Ushi Oni. The ruining of that feudal lord when he moved on in life. It's all there.
This arc feels like Oda has been going out of his way to build up the Celestial Dragons, and specifcally Saturn as the most evil characters in One Piece. It is very reminiscent of the build up in Sabaody Archipelago where we start with that guy getting blown up and the dog peeing on him to eventually Hachi getting shot. Saturn has been lurking in all of these storylines, with him being the person who ordered Kuma to be erased and him being on God Valley (but so far not taking place in the actual hunting). But we haven't gotten that moment yet of Charlos shooting Hachi and all of the characters being stunned. And I really do think that the moment it happens will be the moment that Saturn reveals he's the Celestial Dragon who Ginny caught the eye of.
I don't think it'll be Roswald or some other random Celestial Dragon because I feel like Saturn is this arc's Charlos. His evil is being built up this arc so that when the moment finally comes that he gets what he deserves, the fans feel it just as much as they did the first time.
Saturn is Bonney's biological father. I'd honestly be more surprised at this point if he isn't. I think once all the characters are in the proper places (Kuma finally gets here), Saturn will drop the bomb on us that he did that to Ginny. And that's when Luffy gives him one last parting gift before we get out of here.
