Great debate between two elite playmakers with insane technical ability. They played in completely different positions during the NEL, but I still think there's a valid discussion to be had between them. Both have experience playing in defensive roles too, so I decided to keep the defensive attributes in the mix.
Physically, Bachira takes this one with ease. Neither has an insane physical presence, but Bachira’s playstyle demands a high physical output, and he's just faster, more agile, more explosive, and more enduring than Hiori.
Technically, again, Bachira wins. Personally, I think Bachira is the most technical player in all of Blue Lock. Hiori is also extremely refined — probably top 5 technically — but let’s face it, his opponent is Bachira.
Mentally, it’s closer, but I’d give it to Hiori. He’s literally called the calmness specialist, and has consistently shown elite composure, regardless of pressure or context.
Offensively, it’s actually a bit debatable. Even though Hiori isn't a forward and Bachira was Barcha’s main striker, I think Hiori might be the best pure playmaker in Blue Lock. His elite tactical reading, offensive positioning, and overall passing game are top tier. Still, Bachira is an elite dribbler, great finisher, and also a strong playmaker. He's more complete offensively — he can play striker, left winger, and attacking mid. Hiori, on the other hand, is a pure creator with absurd tactical IQ. That said, I lean Bachira on offense.
Defensively, Hiori is better, no doubt. His tactical IQ and spatial awareness allow him to intercept key passes and block shots. Bachira does better in physically demanding duels, but Hiori’s defensive reading is on another level.
Playmaking? This one might sound wild to some, but to me, Hiori is clearly superior. Better passes, better awareness (both temporal and spatial), better vision, and better mental composure in the aspects that actually matter for creating plays. He’s by far the best playmaker in Blue Lock, no contest. That’s not to say Bachira is bad — he’s probably in the current top 5 — but again, his opponent is Hiori.
Tactically, it’s not even close. While Bachira has creativity and instinct, that alone isn’t enough to compete with Hiori’s tactical output.

MOST DEBATABLE ATTRIBUTES:
PHYSICAL:
1 - This one's debatable too. It's tough to judge since neither of them are particularly physical players, and they don't really have many physical duels to compare.
6 - Debatable because of Hiori's genetics. His mom was a high jumper, but Hiori hasn’t shown much in terms of physical attributes related to that.
TACTICAL:
12 - Bachira also has great perception, but Hiori’s is just on another level. Hiori can even read his opponents' thought patterns and react to stop them, like when he did against Charles.
14 - Pretty debatable, both have insane spatial awareness, but Hiori's anticipation of positioning is far superior to Bachira's, as seen in the last goal against Ubers.
18 - This one's a bit subjective, but for me, Hiori takes this hands down. It’s not because Bachira’s bad, quite the opposite. Bachira's great, but in my opinion, Hiori is by far the best in this attribute in Blue Lock.
MENTAL:
30 - This is up for debate too. Bachira’s had great composure during matches, with the only real shaky moments being during their development stages. But I think Hiori edges this one.
32 - Also debatable. Bachira hardly made any mistakes (if any) in decision-making, but Hiori’s decisions were always more "on point" and deeper, if you know what I mean.
TECHNICAL:
33 - Also debatable. Hiori’s shown he can shoot from much farther than Bachira, but it was just that one shot while he was in flow. Meanwhile, most (if not all) of Bachira's shots have come from inside or around the box.
34 - Debatable here too. Hiori’s left foot is pretty strong, and power and range are Bachira’s weakest shooting attributes, in my opinion.
41 - In terms of how many crosses they’ve made, Bachira takes the lead. But I don’t think that’s enough to outdo Hiori’s crosses. So, if we’re talking about quantity, this one’s up for debate.
It's a pretty complicated debate, not gonna lie — especially since both of them played in different positions during the NEL and had distinct roles on the field. So, I prefer to give two different results. Overall, Hiori stands out: he’s a more balanced player with a broader range of functions. During the NEL, he showed that he can perform excellently both defensively and in midfield, with strong performances in both areas. Even if he were put in the attack, though not in his comfort zone, he’d still deliver a solid performance. On the other hand, Bachira is clearly a player focused more on the offensive side. Within this attacking range — as a left winger, left midfielder, or forward — he outshines Hiori in terms of impact, creativity, and finishing. So, Hiori is more versatile and complete overall, but if we’re talking purely about offensive areas, Bachira is the one who shines.
It's insanely hard to decide this one. Personally, I think Bachira, when playing in his ideal role, is slightly better than Hiori in his. I just feel like Bachira executes his specific function on the field a bit more effectively — but the margin is razor-thin.
I knew this would be a super tight debate, but not this close. That said, yeah... Bachira edges out Hiori by a hair in my book.
Just my take though — not claiming any absolute truths here. Feel free to agree or disagree!
